Made it out this morning before the wind picked up. Started where we did on Saturday in 16-17 fow in the inside of the slot. We made one pass through and had 5 fish. Then we moved out a little deeper to where we fished the day before and started whacking on them. We made 2 passes through and boxed out with a 3 man 24 fish limit just in time for the wind to start cranking. Crawlers on the bottom took all of the fish once again.
Took Brian and his family out on a mid day family trip today fishing from 10-3. The weather was great sunny, warm, and no wind. The bite was totally different than yesterday, things were a lot slower. It seemed like everyone was having to grind hard to get fish. We stared in the slot where we left off yesterday. We couldnt get the rods in the water setting up and boxed 5 walleye along with a catfish, a couple sheepshead, white bass, and perch in no time. Things slowed down an
Hit the bay mid day and landed in a big pod of fish. It only took us two passes to fill up with our 5 man 40 fish limit. Crawlers took all of the fish and color didnt seem to matter to much, as long as there was a crawler on it they were biting it. 16-19 fow on the inside of the slot was the spot to be!
Fishing was pretty steady today with fish biting all throughout the day. Fish were scattered all throughout the slot along with the boats. Crawlers were hot first thing and took almost all the fish until the afternoon. Then things switched and the crawler and crank bite evened up. Crawlers on the bottom 27-31 back with 1 oz bouncers and flicker shads and minnows on long leads took most fish.
The weather was not looking to be in our favor this morning, strong winds and 1-3 foot waves building to 2-4s were predicted. Luckily the wind wasn’t too bad on the way out and stayed lighter than forecasted the entire trip. Fishing was tough, they were there but were not willing to eat. We took several fish all on size 7 flicker shads with long leads 50-70 back. The guys had an educational trip and will be back at it in their own for the next few days
Headed out in search for some fish for tomorrow’s charter, hit a few spots and then landed on some active fish. They were tight to shore in shallow stained water. Made a few passes and dialed them in, flicker shads, minnows, and bandits all took fish. Had quite a few fish in short order before heading in and gearing up for the morning!
Started here we left off last night hoping they would still be there this morning. Not much happened the first pass, a fish or two. The water temp had dropped 4 degrees over night and made the fish lethargic. As the sun came up and the water temp started to rise it was on. Tight loops over the same spot were key to getting fish in the boat, if you went to far one way or the other on the pass the screen on the fish finder would go blank. We ended up with a nice batch of fish w
Made a quick hour and a half trip out to try to find some fish for the morning and that we did. We set up about a mile and a half SW of where we fished this morning. The NE wind had pushed the stained water further down in the slot from where it was this morning. We trolled south along the edge of the bar and picked up 4 fish our first pass them turned around and caught and lost a few along with more some pike on the second pass. Bandits and Husky Jerks were best running 50-
First trip out on the Saginaw Bay for the season was a success! We didn’t catch a ton of fish but the ones that we did catch were big including some 3,4, and 5 pound fish. The early bite was good and things started to tapper off as the sun got higher. Had 6 fish in the boat in 2 passes then had to pick away at them to get the rest. Short passes back and forth in and out of the stained water were the key and almost every fish came right on the transition. Bandits and #9 flicke
