Another fun fishing trip with Marc Greg and Ken this morning. We started off on the inside edge of the bar and one pass had 16 fish. The wind switch to the northeast as we turned around and headed south for our second pass. Our second pass didn’t not amount to much only catching one or two fish. We made a move to the center of the slot in 18 to 20 feet of water and finished up with 24 fish for the guys. We caught our fish on a mix of crawler harnesses suspended and on the bot
Killer morning this morning with Marc Greg and Ken. We set up in the center of the slot out in front of the marina and trolled Northeast until we run out of fish. Only got a few rods in before we had our first first fish on. It was a struggle all morning just to get rods in the water. We had fast and furious action most of the morning and it didn’t take us long to get out four-man limit of walleye. Crawler harnesses in 17 to 18 feet of water on the bottom did it again.
It was a windy day but luckily it was blowing offshore. We weren’t able to get out deep to where they have been biting recently so we had to stay inside the slot and grind out our limit. It took a few moves but once we found them it was on and then just a few passes we had our 32 fish. We fish from the inside of the slot to the center in 15 to 18 feet of water. All the fish came in crawlers once again.
We headed out deep once again into 27 to 28 feet of water that we’ve been fishing the last few trips. Once again the fish were biting good and it didn’t take long before we had our limit of fish. We got them just in time and as we got the last one the wind picked up from the Northeast it started to blow. It worked out great and we were able to ride it down wind all the way back to the marina.
Weather was not looking the greatest and we had to pound our way into the waves to get out deep to the fish. Once we got there and set up the fishing was slow and steady with lots and lots of short bites and missed fish. In the end we finished up with a four man limit for the guys and headed back in. These guys are a blast on the boat with plenty of BS flying. Looking forward to fishing with them again this fall in Ludington for salmon. We got all of our fish in 27 to 28 feet
Had a great trip this morning with Rich and his dad. We had steady action all morning which left us with a full box of fish, three limits of walleye and some bonus white bass. The guys were great and after initially set up they went to work setting rods, baiting hooks, and netting fish. We fished out deep in 27 or 28 feet of water targeting the fish that were on or near bottom using crawler harnesses.
Had the guys show up early this morning to try to beat the wind. With 20-25 mph winds predicted and a small craft advisory starting at 10am we figured we would be lucky to get a whole trip in. We headed out deep first thing and luckily were able to ride in the trough the whole way out. We set up trolling harnesses and rode down wind making 2 big passes from 29 into 18 fow. We ended up with 11 the first pass and had 21 by the end of the second. We moved spots and made a short
Made it up to the bay got the camper set up and the boat in the water and headed out to catch some fish. Started off in the center of the slot and the fishing was good. With only 2 of us in the boat and 6 rods out we had 11 of our 16 fish in no time. Then the sun came out and the lake went flat. The fish disappeared and we pulled lines and made a run out over the bar. I set up in some dirty water that was pouring out of the Saginaw river from all the rain and pointed the boat
