Fishing was pretty steady today with fish biting all throughout the day. Fish were scattered all throughout the slot along with the boats. Crawlers were hot first thing and took almost all the fish until the afternoon. Then things switched and the crawler and crank bite evened up. Crawlers on the bottom 27-31 back with 1 oz bouncers and flicker shads and minnows on long leads took most fish.
The weather was not looking to be in our favor this morning, strong winds and 1-3 foot waves building to 2-4s were predicted. Luckily the wind wasn’t too bad on the way out and stayed lighter than forecasted the entire trip. Fishing was tough, they were there but were not willing to eat. We took several fish all on size 7 flicker shads with long leads 50-70 back. The guys had an educational trip and will be back at it in their own for the next few days
Headed out in search for some fish for tomorrow’s charter, hit a few spots and then landed on some active fish. They were tight to shore in shallow stained water. Made a few passes and dialed them in, flicker shads, minnows, and bandits all took fish. Had quite a few fish in short order before heading in and gearing up for the morning!
