It was a windy day but luckily it was blowing offshore. We weren’t able to get out deep to where they have been biting recently so we had to stay inside the slot and grind out our limit. It took a few moves but once we found them it was on and then just a few passes we had our 32 fish. We fish from the inside of the slot to the center in 15 to 18 feet of water. All the fish came in crawlers once again.

We headed out deep once again into 27 to 28 feet of water that we’ve been fishing the last few trips. Once again the fish were biting good and it didn’t take long before we had our limit of fish. We got them just in time and as we got the last one the wind picked up from the Northeast it started to blow. It worked out great and we were able to ride it down wind all the way back to the marina.

Weather was not looking the greatest and we had to pound our way into the waves to get out deep to the fish. Once we got there and set up the fishing was slow and steady with lots and lots of short bites and missed fish. In the end we finished up with a four man limit for the guys and headed back in. These guys are a blast on the boat with plenty of BS flying. Looking forward to fishing with them again this fall in Ludington for salmon. We got all of our fish in 27 to 28 feet of water on crawlers on or near the bottom again.
