Had a great trip this morning with Rich and his dad. We had steady action all morning which left us with a full box of fish, three limits of walleye and some bonus white bass. The guys were great and after initially set up they went to work setting rods, baiting hooks, and netting fish. We fished out deep in 27 or 28 feet of water targeting the fish that were on or near bottom using crawler harnesses.

Had the guys show up early this morning to try to beat the wind. With 20-25 mph winds predicted and a small craft advisory starting at 10am we figured we would be lucky to get a whole trip in. We headed out deep first thing and luckily were able to ride in the trough the whole way out. We set up trolling harnesses and rode down wind making 2 big passes from 29 into 18 fow. We ended up with 11 the first pass and had 21 by the end of the second. We moved spots and made a short run only picking up 4 or 5 fish then picked and went back to where we started. By that time the wind quit and the waved flattened which fired the walleye up. We filled the cooler quickly in one more pass and ended with 42 fish just as the wind picked back up. Great day of fishing!

Made it up to the bay got the camper set up and the boat in the water and headed out to catch some fish. Started off in the center of the slot and the fishing was good. With only 2 of us in the boat and 6 rods out we had 11 of our 16 fish in no time. Then the sun came out and the lake went flat. The fish disappeared and we pulled lines and made a run out over the bar. I set up in some dirty water that was pouring out of the Saginaw river from all the rain and pointed the boat towards clean water I could see half a mile ahead. The lowrance lit up with more fish than I have ever seen on the bay. I could never get more than 4 rods in the water and finished up our 2 man limit in no time. Crawler Harnesses dragging bottom took all of the fish.
